The Victorian government has announced a $143 million "Circuit Breaker Action Business Support Package" for small businesses affected by the five-day lockdown from 13 ~ 17 February 2021.  The package will target small businesses and sole traders, offering cash grants for businesses in industries hardest hit by the five-day lockdown.

Business Costs Assistance Program

​

Eligible businesses will receive a cash grant of $2,000 (including sole traders and non employing businesses) in eligible sectors such as hospitality, food wholesaling, tourism & events and some retailers.

​

To be eligible, businesses must meet ALL of the following conditions:

​

• have a trading address within Victoria 

• be registered in an eligible industry sector identified in the list of Eligible ANZSIC classes (as defined by the industry classification linked to the business’ ABN)

• have incurred costs as a direct result of the lockdown as announced on 12 February 2021

• have a payroll of less than $3 million during 2019-20 

• have an ABN and are registered for GST at 12 February 2021

Applications are open now until the date the program funds are exhausted or 11:59 pm on 16 March 2021 (whichever is earlier).

Licensed Hospitality Venue Fund

​

The Victorian government will top up the Licensed Hospitality Venue Fund with previous recipients receiving another one off payment of $3,000. Businesses that are eligible for this grant will not be able to receive the $2,000 from the Business Costs Assistance Program. Eligible recipients will be automatically contacted to receive this payment.

Victorian Accommodation Support Program

​

Accommodation providers in regional Victoria and Greater Melbourne will be able to apply for grants to recover losses incurred from booking cancellations between Friday, February 12 and Wednesday, February 17.

​

There are two tiers of funding:

​

• TIER 1: $2,250 (ex GST) per venue with 10 or fewer cancelled nights and 

• TIER 2: $4,500 (ex GST) per venue with 11 or more cancelled nights.
